Earth Hour
In late March, Servcorp supported Earth Hour by turning off all the lights across the global network of locations. Servcorp was one of the only supporters of Earth Hour on a global level. We believe that this initiative was a great way to increase awareness and action towards being more environmentally responsible.
Earth Hour is a worldwide campaign that aims to educate the community about the threats of climate change. The initiative encourages people to turn off their lights for one hour as a sign of their commitment to reducing emissions at home and in the workplace. Earth Hour began in Australia and has been strongly supported by Servcorp in previous years, particularly in Australia.
On behalf of everyone at Servcorp, we'd like to say thank you to all of our clients who took part in Earth Hour 2009. You, along with hundreds of millions of others around the world, made this the biggest Earth Hour ever.
In addition to Servcorp’s commitment around our global network of offices:
- 3929 cities, towns and municipalities in 88 countries across 25 time zones participated;
- 70 national capital cities participated; and
- 996 global landmarks including mountains, historic buildings and modern architectural landmarks officially registered to participate in the event. They include:
- Pyramids and the Sphinx (Egypt);

- Acropolis (Greece);
- Big Ben (United Kingdom);
- Las Vegas Strip and Empire State Building (United States of America);
